A recent survey from YouGov found that 55 percent of Americans think that they are smarter than the average American.
This, of course, doesn’t add up because it means the average American thinks that he or she is smarter than the average American.
34 percent of the survey respondents said they believed they were about as smart as everyone else.
And then there were the humble, or honest, four percent who said they were less intelligent than most people.
Men, at 24 percent, were more likely than women – 15 percent – to say they were "much more intelligent" than the average American. (National Journal)
