(Lancaster, PA) -- A Pennsylvania funeral director will spend at least a half a decade in prison after remains were found decomposing in his basement. Benjamin Siar Jr. used to run a group of funeral homes in Conestoga and Lancaster but got in pretty deep trouble for allegedly giving fake ashes to the families of people who hadn’t yet been cremated. Authorities say they found bodies on the property that were not properly cared for. He pled guilty on Monday to fraud and theft charges, right before he was set to go on trial. Along with the prison time, he was also ordered to fork out 150-thousand dollars in restitution. He could still get another eight years in a cell on yet to be settled abuse of corpse charges.
