WEATHER UPDATE: Jeff's Forecast for This Morning

From Severe Weather Team 9's Jeff Oechslein...  Three graphs and then the complete forcast, below...

A complex forecast overnight into Wednesday as an area of low pressure slides by to our southeast late tonight and Wednesday bringing mainly snow to our northwestern counties, snow mixing with freezing rain from US 22 southeastward, and a little snow and freezing rain to mainly rain in our far southern and southeastern counties.  Where the precipitation stays mainly snow in northern Tuscarawas, northern Carroll and Columbiana counties 6 inches or more is possible, but there should be enough freezing rain mixing in to keep accumulations in the 3 inch to 6 inch range near US 22, and in the 1 inch to 3 inch range along and south of Interstate 70.  In our southern most areas (southern parts of Noble, Monroe and Marshall counties and all of Wetzel and Tyler counties) snow accumulations will generally remain under an inch.  The freezing rain can produce ice accumulations up to a quarter of an inch or so south of US 22, although in the southern most areas noted earlier the freezing rain can end up as plain rain Wednesday, reducing the threat for icy roads.  The mixed precipitation should end as snow showers Wednesday evening with colder and blustery conditions moving in.  Milder weather arrives Friday and continues into Sunday before we turn briefly colder again.

Winter storm warning in effect for most of the area through 6 pm Wednesday (except for a winter weather advisory in Wetzel and Tyler Counties); flood watch Tyler County 12 am through 1 pm Wednesday:
