Florida Georgia Line Talk AMAs & Practicing BSB Dance Moves

They may be nominated for favorite country duo or group at Sunday's (Nov. 19) American Music Awards, but it's their pop music and boy band endeavors that have perhaps had the biggest impact on Florida Georgia Line over the past year.

Billboard got a peek into the country crooners' taping of an AMAs encore performance of their Bebe Rexha collaborative track, "Meant to Be" - during which Tyler Hubbard was casually pulling the Backstreet Boys signature "Everybody (Backstreet's Back)" hand moves as he waited for cameras to start rolling.

"The guys taught us well," he said afterwards, laughing.

Brian Kelley added, "We try to fit it in every day
just a little bit. We've got to make sure we still know the moves just in case they call us and say, 'Hey, come to our show in Vegas!' or something."

Since collaborating with the boy band on the chart-topping hit "God, Your Mama and Me" for their 2016 record, Dig Your Roots, the two acts have sold out stadium shows, topped the country music charts and shut down the Academy of Country Music Awards together in Las Vegas.

And, Hubbard teases it's only the beginning: "We just love those guys," he said. "'God, Your Mama, and Me' was really special, then getting to do the stadium dates with them and selling those out was just a little taste of what's possible in terms of us doing stuff together. Nothing's official yet, but we all love hanging out and playing music together, so I'm sure we'll do some more shows down the road."

While the fellas await their invite to join the quintet at the Larger Than Life residency show at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas, they're meanwhile preparing for Sunday's AMAs, where they're up against Little Big Town and Old Dominion for favorite duo or group country. The Nashville natives have taken the award home for the past three years, but said they still pinch themselves just being at the ceremony, where they will also join Hailee Steinfeld, Alesso, and watt onstage to perform their hit, "Let Me Go."

"We're super humbled to be here," Kelley said. "This is a night we look forward to every year, and it's a huge tip of the hat to us. Win or lose, I feel like we're winners just being here. It's a night where you look to your left and there's DJ Khaled, then look to the right and there's Halsey. Being at an all-genre awards show's awesome and being nominated on top of that is just amazing."
