Cody Johnson introduced a star-studded list of surprise guests when he played two sold out, back-to-back shows at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee. One of the surprise appearances was Carrie Underwood, who said Johnson is “the real deal” after joining him on stage to perform their heartfelt duet, “I’m Gonna Love You.”

Johnson shared a few photos by Jay Trevino on Instagram of the “absolutely unreal” performances for 30,000 people. “Dreams do come true, y’all,” the award-winning artist said as he shared a special shout-out to Underwood, Luke Combs, Ian Munsick, Marcus King and Randy Houser for “making these nights even more unforgettable!”

Houser, who was one of the artists to open the show, joined Johnson on stage on Friday (February 14) to perform “Seven Spanish Angels” together. Johnson later teamed up with King to perform “Call Me The Breeze.” The next night, on Saturday (February 15), Munsick joined Johnson on “Long Live Cowgirls,” Combs took the stage with “Beer Never Broke My Heart,” and Underwood performed “I’m Gonna Love You” with the Texas-born country star. The lineup included Houser and Chayce Beckham opening for Johnson on Friday, and Drew Baldridge and Ashley McBryde opening for Johnson on Saturday.

“From the moment I heard this song, I heard Carrie’s voice on it. It was a non-negotiable for me; either we sing it together, or I wouldn’t sing it at all. It’s that special to me,” Johnson previously said in a press release of his duet with Underwood, which was written by Chris StevensKelly Archer and Travis Denning and produced by Trent Willmon. “Working with Carrie has been an absolute pleasure. She’s not only one hell of a singer, but she’s a class act all the way around. It warms my heart to work with someone who’s seen so much success in their career and they’re still so down to earth. I feel like this duet is going to be massive in so many ways, and I couldn’t be prouder of it!”
