Reba McEntire shared a heartfelt scene from the Reba finale as she marks nearly two decades since the beloved series ended.
McEntire, who starred in the show as Reba Hart, said the show’s finale aired on this day in 2007. Eighteen years later, the music legend wrote in a caption on Instagram: “Today in 2007, we said goodbye to the Hart family in the same place where it all started. We became a family, on and off screen, and I will always love the time we had together!”
McEntire starred in the series alongside Christopher Rich, who played McEntire's ex-husband, Melissa Peterman, who played McEntire’s unlikely friend, McEntire’s onscreen children JoAnna Garcia Swisher, Scarlett Pomers and Mitch Holleman, plus her onscreen son-in-law Steve Howey. The Hart family appeared together in the emotional final scene. Th clip ends as McEntire cherishes that the family “got through it all because we’re survivors.”
The “I’m A Survivor” artist has since premiered a new comedy series called Happy’s Place. The show follows McEntire’s character, Bobbie, who “inherits a restaurant from her late father, then learns she must share ownership with a newly discovered half-sister, creating awkward tension between the two.” the sitcom reunites McEntire with Peterman, who also stars in the series. The cast also includes Belissa Escobedo, Pablo Castelblanco, Rex Linn, Tokala Black Elk and others. Howey recently appeared as a guest star in one of the episodes.
