Bobby just joined the latest collectible trend... he bought himself a Labubu. For those unfamiliar, Labubus are quirky little figures that kids (and now adults) are collecting, trading, and showing off.
Bobby snagged his on eBay for about $47, and it is finally arriving today. It’s bright red, and he’s already decided it’s going to be his new good luck charm, specifically for cheering on Arkansas. Even though he admits he’s “a little late to the game,” Bobby feels like owning one is totally on brand for him. In fact, he’s already joking about buying more and letting them completely take over his desk. Amy pointed out that her daughter doesn’t have any yet, but she’s seen kids going all-in on the trend. Some even trade them like treasure, with certain rare Labubus selling for crazy prices. One mom was especially upset after her child traded away an expensive one without realizing its value, proof that this fad can get pretty serious.
Morgan compared the Labubu craze to Beanie Babies from back in the day, which turned into a cultural phenomenon (and in some cases, a small fortune). Maybe Bobby’s red Labubu could be worth something big in the future. For now, though, it’s not about money, it’s about fun, a little superstition, and maybe even setting a new trend for adults. Bobby is the first in the Bobby Bones Show studio to start a Labubu collection.
