Darius Rucker Offers Up Hits From Past And Present During iHeartCountry Festival

Darius Rucker is known for his strengths in bouncing between genres, but his expertise in the country game was put on display during his showing at the 2017 iHeartCountry Festival, A Music Experience By AT&T, on Saturday night (May 6).

Introduced by Scott Eastwood, who appeared in quite the mood, Rucker made his way to the front of the stage alongside his all-male backing band for a 20-minute performance set, which spanned the last decade or so. It was a brief (but notable) showcase with several discography highlights for the Frank Erwin Center audience. Beginning with 2008's "Alright," the singer/songwriter had momentarily turned the venue into a karaoke bar, before venturing into his as-yet-released "First Time," 2014's "Homegrown Honey" and 2016's "If I Told You."

Even with his lengthy catalog, Rucker kept the biggest for last, performing his cover of "Wagon Wheel," his most successful Billboard Hot 100 hit for the sold-out audience. Its popularity was a given to the singer, who told the crowd to sing along.

iHeartCountry, a music experience presented by AT&T, locked down country music heavyweights Jason Aldean, Little Big Town, Rascal Flatts, Lady Antebellum, and others on the main stage. iHeart's very own country radio personality Bobby Bones is doing double duty as host and performer with his band, The Raging IdiotsClick here for more updates on the show.

You can re-live the iHeartCountry Festival during the special TV broadcast on May 19 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Audience via DIRECTV Channel 239, DIRECTV NOW, or U-verse Channel 1114.
